RESUMEN
Hablar de ecohidrología es discutir el futuro de la sustentabilidad, tema que nunca debió ser un tópico del porvenir, sino un presente constante. La ecohidrología, como la misma palabra describe, es la integración de los conocimientos de las ciencias ecológicas e hidrológicas. Sin embargo, los procesos de interacción entre ambas no son tan sencillos como la unión de dos palabras. En consecuencia, este trabajo pretende mostrar al lector cómo el manejo de los recursos hídricos y bióticos es de vital importancia en las cuencas, y de qué manera se ha diseminado esta ciencia. Por ello, se mencionan las Cátedras UNESCO enfocadas en la ecohidrología, ahondando en sus preocupaciones y áreas de oportunidad. Por último, se sugiere al lector reflexionar acerca de sus acciones a partir de lo expuesto en este escrito.

ABSTRACT
Talking about ecohydrology means discussing the future of sustainability, which should have never been a forthcoming topic but a constant one. Ecohydrology, as the word itself describes, is the integration of knowledge from ecological and hydrological sciences. However, the interaction processes between both are not as simple as the union of two words. Consequently, this paper intends to show how water management and biotic resources involve critical watershed topics and how this science has been disseminated. For this reason, UNESCO Chairs focused on ecohydrology are mentioned, commenting on their concerns and areas of opportunity. Finally, we invite the readers to make a retrospective on their actions minding the information in this article.
